General Requirements:

Paper Structure and Required Sections

Manuscripts submitted to the African Journal of Peace and Social Inclusion (AJPSI) must be structured sequentially as follows:

  1. Title: Article title, author names, institutional affiliations, and corresponding author details.
  2. Abstract: Concise summary of 250–300 words accompanied by 4–5 relevant keywords.
  3. Main Text:
    • Introduction: Context, background, and research objectives.
    • Literature Review: Conceptual clarification, thematic review, or empirical review.
    • Theoretical Framework: Explicit grounding in relevant academic models.
    • Methodology: Research design, population, data collection, and analytical strategy.
    • Result/Findings & Discussion: Data presentation and rigorous academic interpretation.
    • Conclusion & Policy Implications or Recommendations: Practical takeaways and strategic policy directions.
  4. References: Formatted strictly in APA 7th edition style, ensuring all in-text citations match the reference list. All tables and figures must be numbered and captioned.

Cover Letter Requirements

The cover letter should include:

  1. Statement of originality and non‑duplication.
  2. Summary of relevance to AJPSI’s aims
  3. Disclosure of conflicts of interest
  4. Ethical clearances and funding information

Peer Review & Acceptance Metrics

AJPSI employs a double‑blind peer review. This involves initial editorial screening for relevance and formatting, followed by external review by at least two independent reviewers. Final decisions are made by the Editor‑in‑Chief.

Editorial Metrics

  • Overall Acceptance Rate: Approximately 25–30%.
  • AI‑Pre‑Screen Pass Rate: 20–40% of submissions pass AI structural/quality screening to proceed to review.
  • Note: Final editorial decisions remain human-led.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

AJPSI is open access. APCs support processing, DOI assignment, and archiving. Fees are only charged upon acceptance.

Ethical Standards

AJPSI adheres to international publication ethics, including zero tolerance for plagiarism, requirements for ethical clearance for human subjects, and mandatory declaration of conflicts of interest.
